I would like to write about the postcards I received for the first time during the year of war in my country Ukraine. The postcrossing service was inactive for areas that were occupied or where war was taking place.
So no postcards were sent to my area. I sent about 10 postcards to different countries around the world, writing about how I needed help to Ukraine and that I was safe and so on. My postcards went through.
Then I communicated with postcrossing support about the situation in my area and postcards were available! HOORAY!
I received the first three postcards straight from the country – Finland!
People support Ukrainians in their fight for their independence and for their freedom!
I’ll show you the postcards and delve a little deeper into where people sent them from…
Postcard from Lilli
The Beatles were a British rock band that formed in Liverpool in 1960. The band consisted of four members: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They quickly rose to fame in the early 1960s and went on to become one of the most influential bands in the history of music.
The Beatles’ music was characterized by their innovative songwriting, catchy melodies, and unique studio techniques. They experimented with new sounds and techniques, such as tape loops, backwards recordings, and unconventional instruments, which helped them to create a distinctive sound that was unlike anything that had been heard before.
Their early music was heavily influenced by American rock and roll, and their early hits included songs like “Please Please Me,” “She Loves You,” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” However, as the band matured, their music became more complex and sophisticated. They released a string of groundbreaking albums, including “Rubber Soul,” “Revolver,” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” which are widely regarded as some of the greatest albums in the history of rock music.
In addition to their music, The Beatles were known for their fashion sense and their charismatic personalities. They became cultural icons, and their influence on fashion, art, and popular culture was enormous. They were also known for their activism, particularly in the areas of civil rights and peace.
The Beatles disbanded in 1970, but their music continues to be popular and influential to this day. Their songs have been covered by countless artists, and their legacy can be seen in the work of many modern musicians. The Beatles’ impact on popular culture and music is immeasurable, and their place in the pantheon of great artists is secure.
Thank you Lilly, for this beautiful postcard! There’s probably not a person in the world who hasn’t listened to their songs!

Pin-up cards are my weakness. I really love this style! I think a lot of people would agree with me!
Pin-up postcards are a type of vintage postcard that feature illustrations or photographs of attractive models or actresses, typically in seductive poses or clothing. They were popular in the early to mid-20th century and often served as a form of morale-boosting for soldiers during wartime.
Today, pin-up postcards are considered a collectible item and are often sought after by vintage and retro enthusiasts.
